Good food. Polite, helpful server. Generous portions. Excellent value.
Known for, and lives up to, its reputation for authentic Japanese food in sask. My favorite is the mouthwatering katsudon. Needs to be open more, as I doubt they would have a hard time filling seats.
I've only been there once, back in October of 2007 and it was excellent. We went at 130pm back when they used to be open for lunch, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Hate that they don't open until 530pm, though.
Yohei is a pretty good restaurant for Saskatoon. It is sparsely decorated, and the menu is probably too long for most people. I really liked what I got however, and would return again. It is about as authentic as Japanese gets in Saskatoon.
Although the waits are sometimes long and the hours of operation may be sporadic, I truly believe that Yohei is well worth the wait. The food is excellent, and plating is very nice customer service is fairly decent. I go there every time.
good sushi... had it once last year very bad customer service... within the last two weeks I've tried getting sushi from there 4 times... it was closed 2 times (which could be my fault)... but I went there one day and the guy tells me theyre outta rice and he can't make sushi... and today I call to place on order for pickup and he tells me they arent doing take out cause they're too busy
Recently visited Saskatoon for the first time and Yohei as well. Unbelievable sushi which rivals any Ive had. I was waited on by a small Japanese girl named Yuki and I truly fell in love. Sometimes they arent open, but it is worth waiting for them to open because it is by far the best sushi in Saskatoon.
I've had better sushi in other cities, but Yohei has the best in Saskatoon. The big draw for me, was the noodles. Ramen and udon were exceptional Japanese soul food. Great soups. Looking forward to visiting again!
Very long service times and somewhat sporadic hours. Often closed for lunch! Food is good though.
Yohei is great the food is well priced and is above all is the best in saskatoon. i went to otaowa and sushiro but nothing compares to yohei the greatest japanese restaurant in all of sasaktoon
Awesome Food. I went there every week for a while, I just couldn't get enough of their shoyu ramen. I was a little disappointed to find that they only serve kansai style okonomiyaki, I prefer Hiroshima style myself.
It's amazing food at an amazing price! The freshest, best tasting sushi is Saskatoon! Going over right now, actually.
Yohei truly serves authentic Japanese fare. The excellent food makes up for the no frills ambience at reasonable prices. Totally agreed that the okonomiyaki tastes fantastic, just like the ones back in Japan. Both thumbs up!
oishii! i spent three years teaching ESL in osaka & when i came back to saskatoon i was delighted to discover yohei. they serve fantastic okonomiyaki, great sushi rolls and yummy miso. their set menus are filling and reasonably priced, too. though it is easy to miss (i drove by it at least 5 times...), you should make it your mission to visit yohei.
The best and cheapest sushi in Saskatoon! Of course the restaurant is small and has no ambience, but the service is great, the sushi is amazing, and the price--for fresh fish in the middle of the prairies--is terrific!
Its Quick, Well Prepared and a nice little Japanese Restaurant. There is something for every taste, and it is all delicious. Definately check this place out. Cheers!
excellent miso ramne finally a place that has ramen. good stuff
absolutely authentic food, reasonable prices, friendly servers. probably the only japanese restaurant in saskatoon run by a japanese family. surprisingly extensive menu for a family enterprise. great food!
Excellent sushi and sushimi - who would've thought that Saskatoon would have Japanese food this good?
